The Note 8 has finally arrived to replace the very successful Infinix Note 7. The Infinix Note 8 review reveals it has a good headstart by receiving a more powerful chipset in the form of the Helio G80, however, that’s not all it has going for it. The spec sheet shows some of the other things that the Note 8 has going for it.

Design and Display
The Infinix Note 8 comes with a sleek build that is made of plastic, however, that’s a good thing in a certain way, while the more premium touch might be lost but you gain durability. The design is eye-catching but not too loud. The fingerprint sensor is on the side and doubles as the power button. The volume rockers on the right side are responsive. There are stereo speakers on the Infinix Note 8 that sound really loud. The 3.5mm jack is at the bottom of the device. The rear camera placement moves from the center to the right side of the back panel and is placed in a rectangular-shaped camera housing.
The Infinix Note 8 has a 6.95inch display which is quite big so it’s quite confusing as to why Infinix went for a 720p screen only. The display big lacks the punch that makes it stand out. Because of this display choice, the Infinix Note 8 has to settle for 258ppi density however there is an unspecified version of Gorilla glass used.
Camera
The Infinix Note 8 offers a 64MP main camera sensor, 2MP(depth), 2MP(macro), and 2MP(AI), and the selfie camera offers a 16MP(main) and a 2MP(depth). The results from the front camera were respectable but not groundbreaking, the same can be said of the selfie shooter as well. Because of its limitations taking good pictures would require ample light.
Battery and Performance
This aspect doesn’t need much to be said because the 5000mAh slapped on the Infinix Note 8 is big and coupled with an 18watts charger in the box you can truly press away without bothering about your battery.
The performance on the Note 8 is not too different from that of the Note 7 but there is a difference for sure just not very noticeable. Apart from that, the performance is great for this price point and everyday tasks were taken care of along with the help of heavy games. The phone will heat up a little as is expected when running tasks but not too uncomfortable levels.
Connectivity
The Infinix Note 8 comes equipped with Bluetooth 5.0, radio, GPS, Wi-Fi, and a 4G LTE that can reach speeds of up to 42.2mbps for download and 5.76mbps for uploading. No problems were experienced during the use of these comms. And this time Infinix went with the Type-C port.
Price and Availability
The Infinix Note 8 ranges from $160-$220 depending on memory configuration. The device is available in online stores like Jumia and Kongo and can be found in physical outlets too.
Verdict
While not being very different from its predecessor the Note 8 is still a winner because it brought over the things that made the Note 7 successful namely a big battery, good performance, large display, and great design but still added a little more like the processor, Type-C port and 18watts charger. These attributes make it a buy but have stiff competition from the likes of Redmi and Realme who offer FHD displays at this price point.
